Every day more than a thousand children under five die from diseases caused by unsafe water, sanitation and hygiene. The Akvo Foundation set out to turn data into action. With partners, it developed the Akvo Mobile Lab Series, transforming a smartphone into a pocket-sized lab for testing soil, air and water quality. The tools help communities collect and share real time data to act faster and improve health.
