Wednesday 9 September has been designated ‘Sustainability Day’ in The Netherlands. On this day, Dutch organisations and the general public across the country are being encouraged to show the meaning and importance of sustainability in fun and inspiring ways.
It’s the kind of challenge Reggs loves, especially since one of the priorities at our multi-disciplinary design agency is to contribute to sustainable business development. To mark Sustainability Day, we are launching the ‘Ik ben dapper’ (I am brave) campaign, in partnership with the municipality of Amsterdam Oost-Watergraafsmeer and the global Health & Well-being giant Philips.
The goal of our campaign is to increase national awareness of the electronic waste (eWaste) associated with small household appliances. eWaste deserves special attention because its impact is substantial – but often overlooked. The Reggs campaign encourages citizens of Amsterdam to recycle their eWaste on 09.09.09 at the city’s colourful and popular Dappermarkt, and rewards them with a fun ‘Ik ben dapper’ incentive. The result? The public becomes more aware of eWaste in an enjoyable way, giving the environment a positive boost that can last longer than
Sustainability Day itself.
